"content": "“(2A) A licence shall be valid for the period stipulated in the licence: Provided that a licence issued to a business intending to operate for one year or more shall be valid for one year from the date of issue” The justification is that the amendment seeks to make provision concerning the duration and validity of a licence. This is to cater for the needs of a short-term as well as a long-time licence and ensuring that the licences lapse on the anniversary of their issuance as opposed to the current scenario where they lapse at the end of a financial year."
