Temporary Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, the Bill be amended by deleting the long title and substituting therefor the following new long title— “An Act of Parliament to establish a comprehensive legal framework for the regulation of health products and technologies; to safeguard public health through development of a regulatory system to ensure safety, quality, efficacy, effectiveness and performance of health products; to establish the Kenya Health Products and Technologies Regulatory Authority and for connected purposes”. This amendment accords with international best practices and sets out the main purpose of the Bill, which is to establish a centralised regulatory Authority for health products and technologies."
