Temporary Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 1 of the Bill be amended by— (a) deleting the phrase “Kenya Drugs Authority Act, 2022” and substituting therefore the phrase “Kenya Health Products and Technologies Regulatory Authority Act, 2022”; (b) deleting the words “and commencement” in the marginal note. The amendment in (a) accords with international best practices and comprehensively covers the mandate of the proposed Authority. The amendment in (b) limits the marginal note to the content of Clause 1, which only sets out the name of the Bill. The Clause does not make any provision regarding the commencement of the Bill. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Chairman."
