It seeks to protect those who are already in office, ensure that there is continuity, and make sure that this is engraved in law. "content": "THAT, the Bill be amended by inserting the following new clause immediately after the proposed new clause 33B— Legal proceedings. 33C. On or after the appointed day, all actions, suits or legal proceedings pending by or against the former Council shall be carried on or prosecuted by or against the successor Council, and no action, suit or legal proceedings shall in any manner abate or be prejudicially affected by the enactment of this Act."
