"content": " Having two dominant political parties, as we are now experiencing in Europe and our Continent, is a problem. It is a problem because it leaves no alternatives. It allows fascists and far-right parties to thrive. That is what is happening in the UK and the USA. That is also what has happened in other jurisdictions, including France. People have lost faith in the two dominant political parties, yet there is no exit pathway. We should even have 100 political parties. In fact, our Constitution contemplates that. There is no limit to political parties, like there can be no limit to independent candidates. In this Continent, where we have dominant political parties, especially those that claim to be liberation political parties, there is less democracy and economic mismanagement. You do not have to go far, just look around. Look at the african countries where the independent parties have remained dominant, democracy is not thriving, there is no economic prosperity; oligarchy and kleptocracy are the order of the day. We must open the door and let Kenyans have as many political parties as they want. There is no reason to restrict them. Thank you."
