  • 16 Oct 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister table the list of the Government ECD schools which she mentioned because there is one in my constituency which stalled. It was a very good and major project, but it is not functioning. We want it to be commissioned. Could she tell us when she will commission that project? view
  • 6 Sep 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I think the Assistant Minister is joking when he says that the Ministry will look for funds. Is he aware that there is no road in the whole of western Kenya, particularly in Rift Valley and Nyanza Provinces? This Government is famous for bribing people with districts and everything. The Western Alliance will not give them votes if the roads in the region are impassable. There was a beautiful road between Nakuru and--- view
  • 6 Sep 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is a character of these people! I was saying that there was a beautiful road between Eldama Ravine and Eldoret. Now there is no road; it is past tense! This September 6, 2007 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 3745 is because lorries and buses have deviated from the Molo Road towards Nakuru. It used to take one and a half hours to reach Eldoret using that road, but now it takes half a day. Is the Assistant Minister aware of these conditions which we are being subjected to because of failure of the Government to take care of the ... view
  • 15 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to remind the Minister that the water levels have gone down in many lakes in this country. For instance, at Lake Nakuru, Lake Magadi and Lake Naivasha, water levels have gone down. In my own constituency, I have two lakes, Lake Baringo and Lake Kamnorok. Lake Kamnorok has gone completely dry while the water levels in Lake Baringo are going down. We need these waters to irrigate, because my area is semi arid and we really depend on that water. What can we do about this matter? Could he advise us accordingly? view
  • 15 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, if I heard the Assistant Minister well, he talked about auditors. Auditors of that nature require other auditors to audit them! This is a long time from 1998 up to 2007 and yet, this Government is very famous for saying that it will not leave any stone un- turned because of corruption. Are we sure that the police and other officers involved in that case are not partakers of that money? This answer talks about the BOG. Have members of the BOG and the parents in that BOG been taken to court? Maybe, they are the ... view
  • 15 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, could the auditors, the Board of Governors (BOG) and the police investigators be audited? view
  • 15 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: On a point of Order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. It is very clear that the Questioner knows the "grabber". Why can he not table the name so that the Office of the President can confirm or deny it? view
  • 22 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand here to strongly support this Bill. I am very pleased, indeed, to announce that I have been associated with the occupational safety and health issues half of my life when I was teaching in the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC). Therefore, I am very much biased and in love with this Occupational Safety and Health Bill. I am also very much interested in it. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the House should be happy to note that the purpose and essence of this Bill is to actually update the old one which has been in ... view
  • 25 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Environment and Natural Resources:- (a) whether he is aware that Lake Kamnorok had dried up occasioning an acute water shortage to residents and wildlife that depend on the lake; and, (b) what measures he is taking to rectify the situation. view
  • 25 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to appreciate the answer given by the Minister. However, the silting of this lake was a long process. The water levels had been reducing for many years and the Ministry must have been seeing this. The stakeholders like the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and the county council have been there and watching the water levels go down. The same is the case with Lake Elementaita and Lake Naivasha. They are also drying up. 934 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES April 25, 2007 Are we going to wait until all lakes are dry before the Ministry takes ... view
