I rise to make my contribution to the State of the Nation Address by His Excellency the President. This opportunity is much appreciated. I noted that the President, as required by law, brought the three reports that he is required to bring. However, I noted too that the President also went further to bring two other extra reports - Report on Ease of Doing Business Milestones and Report on the Progress Made by the DPP. I listened very keenly as the President was giving his report on the measures taken in the achievement of national values. I dare say that the President painted a very rosy picture and in fact went on to say that this country is looking strong and resilient, but that is not where I am going to dwell. The President brought the Report on our international obligations. He reported well to the House. However, on this issue of our international obligations, I know this House would have been better and would have benefited more if we got more information on how we are doing on our international obligations. I believe that even if it did not show up in the Speech of the President, The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor."}
