I beg to move that the Co- operative Societies (Amendment) Bill (Senate Bills No. 11 of 2020) be read a Second Time. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, in one way or another, we have associated ourselves and have benefited from co-operative societies. We are members, have borrowed money, and been part of the management process for co-operative societies. Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies (SACCOS) have come under increasing public scrutiny of late, mostly on charges of loss of members. That creates a sense of wanting to find out what might be happening therein, so that they can address that issue. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate."}
