I acknowledge the work that has been done by the Committee in trying to hurriedly, given the timelines, consolidate a report from all the committees that have had to submit their views on the BPS in less than two days. This is something I have raised earlier. Section 25 of the PFM Act has never been followed to the letter. Section 25(7) of the PFM Act states that- ―Parliament shall, not later than fourteen days after the Budget Policy Statement is submitted to Parliament, table and discuss a report containing its recommendations and pass a resolution to adopt it with or without amendments.‖"}
