It is also a cash crop in counties that are in dry areas. In particular, it is a cash crop in Tharaka Constituency, Tharaka Nithi County. It is also grown in Mwingi North in Kitui County, Makueni and Machakos. It is a crop that requires attention under Sections 7 and 8 of the Crops Act. I gave notice of intention to move that we amend Schedule 1 of the scheduled crops and include mung beans/green grams/ ndengu in that Schedule."}
