The day these prices were raised, there was a quick consultation with a few suppliers and within an hour or so, a decision was made. That was an attempt of public participation which is mandatory in the Constitution. I believe every other time EPRA increases fuel prices, it must consult a few Kenyans who are the consumers and generally get a view from the experts on the best thing to do on behalf of Kenyans. From this Petition, this did not happen. I believe EPRA must consult and even make an announcement publicly so that people can write to them and give their views. I am sure the country has sufficient experts who can advise them appropriately such that no sector suffers."}
