It is not only in Kenya, but even in Gambia, until a decision was made in 1993, they had a law that was called the Insane Persons Act. Mental disability is not something that should be looked down upon. It is a disease. I can see that my time is almost up, but I support the one on elderly persons. We disregard persons who are elderly because many of us somehow think that if we reach a given age, we will not progress. I came here as a fairly young Member of Parliament, but now I am in my middle age and should I come back, I might be one of the elderly persons. This will happen to all of us.
