I remember before I came to Parliament, I was taken through capacity building sessions and trainings by National Democratic Institute (NDI) because I was coming from a different world. Academia and politics are far apart. Through the NDI courses I came to appreciate the fact that even scholars are supposed to be in politics, so that they can legislate on laws that affect academia.
