Deputy Chairman, I beg to move; THAT, the Bill be amended by inserting the following new clause in Part III immediately after clause 12 — Removal of a trustee. 12C. (1) A trustee shall be removed from office only by a court on grounds of — (a) misappropriation of a Waqf’s property; (b) allowing the Waqf property to fall into disrepair when the trustee has funds to maintain the property; (c) knowingly or intentionally causing damage or loss to Waqf property; (d) breach of trust in relation to the Waqf property; or (e) any other sufficient reason permitted by Islamic law. (2) Despite subsection (1), a trustee may be removed from office by the Waqf, if the right to remove the trustee is reserved in the Waqf deed. Be moved for a Second Reading. The only new thing I am introducing there is clause (e) and (2) I beg to move."}
