Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, the Bill be amended by deleting Clause 6. Clause 6 seeks to amend Section 7 of the principal Act. The reason why I seek this amendment is that Section 7(6) of the principal Act is an offending provision under our Constitution. It seeks to create a coalition political party which does not exist. The term “coalition political party” does not exist within the Constitution. Therefore, I am motivated by the fact that it is important that as this House legislates, it also takes care and minds how the amendments sit within the Constitution."}
