While most counties have acquired ambulances, they still lack adequate personnel, resources and equipment to provide effective emergency services. As such, there is a need to strengthen emergency referral and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) services in county health facilities for purposes of improving access, as well as easing pressure at the KNH."}
