That is the case. As to how we shall make sure that Kenya is food sufficient, various Ministries are co-ordinating the exercise. These Ministries are the Ministry of Northern Kenya and other Arid Areas, Ministry of Water and Irrigation and the Ministry of Agriculture. They are co-ordinating so that we can irrigate our land and stop relying on rain-fed agriculture. This will also make our population not to rely on relief food. In fact, I expect to get a lot of support in this initiative. I look forward to a situation whereby relief food will be stopped and all our people will be self-sufficient. We will encourage our people to farm and be self-reliant and not on hand outs."}
