Unfortunately, I was not present when the Committee of Ways and Means was deliberating on various vote-heads. However, in the short time that you have allocated me, I will just highlight a few things. I am worried about this Budget. When President Ruto took power, he said that he was going to reduce the 2022/2023 Financial Year budget by Ksh300 billion. That has not happened. Instead, what we are seeing today is an increase of Ksh544 billion in the 2023/2024 Financial Year Budget from the Budget of 2022/2023 Financial Year. The total budget is rising from Ksh3,055,000,000,000 to a total of Ksh3,059,000,000,000 without considering the debt rollover.
