This is in direct conflict of Article 9 of the Constitution which separates the State and religion and, therefore, removes the powers of sponsors in schools replacing it with the Teachers Service Commission. Hon. Speaker, I could go on and on, but let me stop there and indicate that the business of law making is a reserve of Parliament under Article 109 of the Constitution. As it stands, there is a crisis in the education system with education organs and players existing before the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 intending to seize power within the education sector given these proposals. Hon. Speaker, I want to seek your guidance that this matter be handled by the House so that people do not change the Constitution and the Acts of Parliament through the backdoor."}
