There is something that worries me with this Bill at Clause 4 and a few Members had spoken on it. The Executive in its effort to correct what was said in the court is creating a bigger problem to the people of Kenya. If you look at Clause 4(1) on imposition of levy, it says: “There is imposed a levy known as Affordable Housing Levy.” 4(2) says: “The Levy shall be at the rate of 1.5 percent of: (a) the gross salary of an employee; (b) the gross income of a person received or accrued which is not subject to the Levy under paragraph (a).” The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
