Section 17 of the principal Act is amended by inserting the following new paragraph immediately after paragraph (i) – (j) willfully communicates electronically, either directly or indirectly, with a person or any other person who knows the person knowing that their conduct is likely to — (i) induce or compel the person to refrain from becoming a candidate or to withdraw if they have become a candidate; (ii) induce or compel that other person not to vote for the person or the person’s political party; or (ii) impede or prevent the person from being nominated as a candidate; be now read a second time."}
