On the night of 24th April, 2009, 29 people were brutally murdered in a manner that has not been witnessed in this country in the most recent times. I wish to give, briefly, the events that had happened in that area before those murders occurred. During the day on Monday 20th, a gang of people came to Karatina Town - there were about 300 of them – on motor bikes waving pangas and all manner of weapons. That happened in broad daylight at 4.00 p.m. in a country that is, supposedly, democratic; in a country that, supposedly, has the rule of law."}
