I informed the Clerk of the Committee that I was attending another meeting in Mombasa. I was never granted an extension. Nonetheless, Hon. Melly must be reminded of Article 125 of the Constitution of Kenya, that when a Committee of Parliament sits, it holds the same powers as the High Court to investigate a matter. It is the Committee’s responsibility to visit the projects and provide this House with a detailed report. It is not the role of a Member to attend the Committee in order to provide reports, especially when the Committee is acting under Article 125."}
