Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), a so-called cryptocurrency platform, promised and guaranteed returns using flashy language and artificial intelligence trading bots. It lured thousands of Kenyans, many of them young people and first-time investors, and then one day it vanished. It left behind a trail of financial ruin, and no one was held accountable.
