You have also heard the answer that has been given by the Assistant Minister. I think there are two things here. Either the Assistant Minister misunderstood my Question or he is deliberately misleading the House because my Question was very specific. I had asked him to confirm whether the Government had reviewed the terms of service for teachers in the last ten years. He has given us a story of 1997 and the 200 per cent salary increase, when he knows very well the circumstances under which that increment took place. Secondly, Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am not talking about the strengths and weaknesses. I am talking about the effects or the negative impact of the movement of teachers from the teaching profession. The Assistant Minister cannot say that it is a plus when we have a shortfall of over 60,000 1670 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES July 8, 2008 teachers in this country! So, Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to request for your indulgence so that the Assistant Minister can actually address the Question that I had asked."}
