(a) Yes, I am aware that the late constable Erick Kipsang Sirtui (PC 60310) was accidentally killed by his colleague on 12th December, 2006 and not on 11th December, 2006 as stated. (b) I am also aware that the late police constable left behind a widow and four young children. Already, we have initiated the following steps to have the widow compensated: 1. A group personal accident scheme compensation claim has been processed and submitted to the Director of Pensions for payment. The following pension claims are being processed: (i) Death gratuity and dependants pension payable by the Director of Pensions; and, (ii) Workman compensation payable by the Ministry of Labour and Human Resource Development."}
