The first is on the powers that have been given to the Commissioner-General and the Commissioner of Customs and Excise in the Customs and Excise Act, the Income Tax Act and the Value Added Tax Act. In all of them, the Commissioner-General and the Commissioner of Customs and Excise have been given powers to freeze bank accounts, seize and transfer properties through an ex-parte application.
