It is a fraud on the students. Without teachers in classrooms, it is like boarding a bus without a driver. It is like taking a patient to a theatre for an operation without a surgeon. It is like jumping out of a plane in full flight without a parachute. The Prime Minister and the President of Kenya – both of whom who know very well the plight of the poor – have to rise this afternoon and call an end to this strike by declaring that the Government is going to employ the 18,000 teachers on contract and a further 10,000 teachers."}
