I actually resisted this amendment. I think I have an opportunity to say that this amendment, with the kind of society we are in--- So many people are illiterate and they lose their voters cards. But if their names are appearing in the register and they have the ID or a passport, why should you deny them the opportunity to exercise their right to vote and participate in electing their leaders? So, I would urge my Chair to withdraw this amendment based on the public’s mood."}
