In all the laws we have passed where we have given an office a single term of six years and above, these offices have very important. An example is the Director of Public Prosecution. For this Director-General to hold office for a single term of six years and his appointment method to be just through an appointment by the Cabinet Secretary, we are reducing this office which is very important to a smaller level than the way the Minister had envisaged. I do not blame him because it appears there was a complete rush in drafting this Bill but still we will not let this mistake pass. This is an office that must be approved through Parliament. I would request the Minister to consider an amendment that will bring the approval process through the relevant Parliamentary Committee."}
