I know the emerging issues that have been raised are social issues such as gender, environment, HIV/AIDS, children rights, human rights, computers, drug abuse, school safety and peace education among others. I want to assure the Member that curriculum development--- When I answered and said that emerging issues are captured and incorporated as topics I meant exactly that. These issues are factored in when you are writing or developing a geography curriculum you will touch on issues that have to do with environment; when writing or developing curriculum in history you will touch on human rights.
