The independence we are talking about is not about tenure of service. It is the professional integrity, to give him independence to be able to come out. As a lawyer, you can give an opinion but on whether it is acted upon or not, it is something else. So, it ought to be the way the Attorney-General has proposed. Otherwise, it will make life very difficult for any Attorney-General to give proper advice if he is under instruction of the client. Therefore, what the Attorney-General was proposing is what I thought the Committee carried."}
