Gitari, the Member of Parliament for Kirinyaga Central for introducing this Motion to the House. It is timely. Among the many issues which will be taken by the relevant Committee of the House, is the issue of late payment or penalties by the NHIF. From the outset, I know that the NHIF might feel like we are trying to deny them a source of income because the interest it charges on late payment constitutes a big chunk of their income. That is not the motivation of this Motion."}
