Having come from India on Saturday evening after undergoing an eye surgery, I realize the importance of this Motion. Had I not been able to meet the costs of going to India, I would have become blind. As I speak, I have a sister who has been diagnosed with cancer stage 4A. When I inquired what I could do, I was told that I cannot do anything. We just have to leave her to die. That is how serious this matter is. I would like to urge the Government to use its machinery to create cancer awareness amongst our people down in the villages, so that a victim can be treated of that terminal disease early enough, before the situation becomes serious.
