I want to start by saying that, as a country, we have gone through a transformation. I think my colleagues will remember that in this country, if you were expecting any public appointment, then what you needed to do was to always have a radio and listen to 1.00 p.m. news to hear whether or not your name is mentioned. If you were occupying a public office, chances were that always at 1.00 p.m. every day, you were to rush to where there was a radio or television to listen to news and hear whether or not you were still going to occupy that position."}
