I know that we have put a target of achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015. That is lowering of mortality rates and the eradication of many diseases, including malaria. But when I look at our country, I think we are still very far from achieving these goals. Of course, there are various attempts which have been made, especially on the development of vaccines. I have seen scientists come up with trial vaccines for HIV/AIDS, resistant tuberculosis, and now as you know, there is already a polio vaccination that is going on and which can be attributed to the research that has been done by the scientists of this country.
