(Prof.) Lesan","speaker_title":"","speaker":{"id":506,"legal_name":"Wilfred Rottich Lesan","slug":"wilfred-rottich-lesan"},"content":"Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to give notice of the following Motion:- THAT, aware that Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) is a critical component in effective service delivery in all sectors of our economy; further aware that the Fibre Optic Backbone (FOB) is already laid in most counties; appreciating that advanced medical equipment is now available in county medical institutions; acknowledging that medical diagnosis and care is critical and costly; concerned about the shortage of medical personnel trained in various specialties in the health sector; cognizant of the beneficial role of telemedicine in consultations irrespective of the physical location of consultants; the Senate urges the National Government to provide fibre optic connectivity to referral and level 4 and 5 public hospitals in all counties."}
