I rise to, first of all, support the Motion, but with amendments. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I think this is a very important Motion because it is dealing with a very important subject; a constitutional subject, which is the Presidential Address. If you read Article 132 of the Constitution, it provides that:- “The President shall— (a) address the opening of each newly elected Parliament; The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate."}
