We reviewed the Kenya-US bilateral relationship, discussed issues of mutual interest with regard to Somalia, Southern Sudan, Libya and Cote d’ Ivoire. The US committed US$15 million to assist Kenyan border patrol. We also agreed that the on-going reforms in Kenya such as the passage of the new Constitution should be considered when evaluating Kenya’s good governance score for purposes of accessing funds from the millennium challenge account to support the millennium development goals such as universal free primary and secondary education. I also met with the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee to update them on reforms in Kenya."}
