{"id":48014,"url":"http://info.mzalendo.com/api/v0.1/hansard/entries/48014/?format=json","text_counter":223,"type":"other","speaker_name":"","speaker_title":"","speaker":null,"content":"noting with deep concern the sharp rise in inflation and the cost of living that is devastating the livelihoods of millions of Kenyans and posing a threat to national stability; realizing that this challenge, indeed,is broad and cuts across a multiplicity of sectors and, therefore, requires multi-pronged remedial measures; appreciating the stated willingness of Government to consider proposals for lasting solutions to this challenge; cognizant of the urgency to have a solution to these economic challenges; this House resolves to establish a Select Committee to be known as “The Parliamentary Select Committee on Cost of living” to enquire into the factors fueling the sharp rise in inflation and the cost of living in the country and table in Parliament, within thirty days, a comprehensive report with substantive recommendations on both immediate and long-term remedial measures; and that the said Committee comprise the following:-"}
