{"id":48666,"url":"http://info.mzalendo.com/api/v0.1/hansard/entries/48666/?format=json","text_counter":13,"type":"speech","speaker_name":"Mr. Langat","speaker_title":"","speaker":null,"content":"Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to give notice of the following Motion: THAT, aware that majority of Kenyans and businesses are consumers of petroleum fuel products; concerned that the relevant institutions do not maintain strategic fuel reserves to stabilize prices; concerned further that as a result, the cost of petroleum products has significantly increased in the last two months; noting that escalating fuel prices could have far reaching negative socio-economic effects on the nation; this House urges the Government to urgently subsidize the prices of all categories of petroleum products to maintain pump prices at a maximum of Kshs80 per litre by setting up a consumer petroleum fuel subsidy fund through reallocation of funds from various votes of Government Ministries."}
