The most important constitutional provision is found under Article 53 of the Constitution. Article 53(1)(a) says:- “Every child has the right to a name and nationality from birth.” This Article is reinforced by the UN Convention on the rights of the child dated 30th November, 1989. Kenya is a signatory to Articles 7 and 8 of the Convention."}
