Temporary Deputy Chairman, in a nutshell, what I am saying is that the Office of the Auditor-General needs to be given space to work independently without interference from any other office. We are seeing a deliberate attempt to suppress, intimidate and blackmail this office even through threats to officers working in the Office of the Auditor-General. If we lose the Office of the Auditor-General, especially after losing the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)--- There is even an attempt to remove the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and send him home; we are going to lose the independence of institutions."}
