"content": "Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this amendment Bill. I would like to thank my colleague, Sen. (Dr.) Machage for coming up with this amendment which I think will have far reaching implications when it is passed and implemented. I would like to correct Sen. (Dr.) Machage who said that Prof. Obel, who was my teacher as well, came up with KEMRON. That KEMRON was a product of Prof. David Koech who was the Director of the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) at that time. Secondly, I would like to thank the pioneer scientists who did their best at that time to come up with an attempt to create medication for the serious challenges that were brought about by HIV/AIDS.
