Deputy Speaker for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this and then make an amendment. Emergency medical care is an important aspect of health. It is a life-saving activity or a disability saving activity. Emergency medical care is needed when you have a medical emergency which can arise any time. Common illnesses such as Malaria can present as a medical emergency that requires urgent attention. People are familiar with emergencies that occur during accidents. However, chronic illnesses like diabetes or hypertension can quickly turn into a medical emergency. Somebody who was perfectly well and going about their business can suddenly have a medical emergency.
