Under Sub-Clause 1(d) of the Bill, deleting the word “three” and substituting therefor the word “seven” would mean a Senior Resident Magistrate would have the jurisdiction of Kshs.7 million. Under Sub-Clause 1(e) of the Bill, deleting the word “two” and substituting therefor the word “five” would mean that a Resident Magistrate would have the jurisdiction of Kshs.5 million. Under Sub-Clause 3 of the Bill, we have a final amendment under Sub-Clause 3(f) by deleting the paragraph and substituting therefor the following paragraph; “(e) matters affecting status, and in particular the status of widows and children including guardianship, custody, adoption and legitimacy; and” others that is covered in Section 7.
