Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to move this Motion. I beg to move the following Motion:- THAT, this House notes the Report of the Constitutional Implementation Oversight Committee on Consideration of Extension of the Term of the Transition Authority, laid on the Table of the House on Thursday, 18th February, 2016. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the Transition Authority (TA), as Members may be aware, was established under Section 4 of the Transition to Devolved Government Act. The main role of the TA under Section 7(1) of that Act is to facilitate and co-ordinate the transition to the devolved system of government. Section 7(2) of the said Act also outlines the functions of the Authority which are, among others, facilitating co-ordination and transition of the devolved system of government as provided for under Section 15 of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution. The TA also facilitates the analysis as well as phase transfer of the functions provided under the Fourth Schedule of the Constitution to the national Government and county The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
