Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 6 of the Bill be amended— (a) in sub clause (1) by deleting the words “except elective abortions.” appearing in paragraph (a); (b) in sub clause (2) by deleting the words ‘uncomplicated abortion and post- abortion care and in the identification, management and referral of abortion’ and substituting therefor the words “manage pregnancy-related complications in women” As a Committee, we find this superfluous because the expression does not add any value. Any abortion whether it is elective or not, has to be managed by medical officers."}
