I rise to support Hon. Pukose’s amendment. If you look at the history of Kitalale, you will find that it was formally a white settler farm. The people who bought that land paid 10 per cent. The Government erroneously degazetted it and made it a forest yet the European settler who was living there made it a forest. The people who live there have a right to own it and be given title deeds. As I speak, they have built schools and other social amenities. When we take a former European settler farm and put it under a Schedule dealing with forests, we are being unfair to the people living in Kitalale. I support Hon. Pukose’s amendment."}
