Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 44 be amended by inserting the following new sub-clauses immediately after sub-clause (2)— “(2A) Without prejudice to the generality of subsection (1), the Service may enter into a management agreement with any person who has acquired customary rights with respect to a public forest. (2B) In entering into an agreement under this section, the Service shall give priority to applicants from the forest community associated with the public forest concerned, or persons residing in areas bordering the forest”."}
